Have you ever won the lottery? If you have you are probably very lucky. If you win the lottery in the book”The lottery” it is exactly the opposite. What type of book could this be? A horror book, a corrupt city under horrid government control? In the book Mr. Warner says it is tradition, but tradition for what and why. Maybe it was just there way of life, Maybe it was just fate. Because there is no real way not to get picked. Even if you wanted to get picked its only luck, or it is just unlucky.

I Am the last Pickle

The last pickle I am, the last lonely pickle in a vast jar from the past. I am the last PICKLE, I have not gone fast like others from their mothers. I am the last of the pickles nobody likes a chubby stubby pickle, Lost in the back of the fridge for I am the last pickle hidden behind the rotten milk. Molding into hard folds for their days is long gone. MY DEATH waits across those open gates of the old and moldy kitchen door. Release me.

The hunger games “the movie” has the third best in “most attended movie” in its first week of showing. The book also is one of the top selling books in history. Written by Susan Collins the Hunger games is the first book in its trilogy. The book takes place in a green lush, hilly area, with twenty-four tributes, two from each district. The book is almost always going to be the better of the two for example the lighting thief book was great the movie was ok. Unlike Narnia I thought the movies were better than the books. The book I thought did a great job explaining the relationships between the characters, and the movie did not explain this very well. I also think the movie was horrible explaining the second meaning of the book. The best character relationship I thought the movie did well was the relationship between gale and Katness until later in the movie. I thought they did this very well they made it look like they were friend’s good old friends. However they sort of screwed that up when Peeta and Katness kissed and they showed gale sad back home. I thought that they were just good friends not lovers but they movie sort of made gale and her out to be later in the movie. The Katness, Peeta relationship was ok in the movie. The relationship that I thought was worst in fact, I think totally missed was the Cinna, Katness relationship. In the book it makes him her best friend during the prepping of the games. I think also missed was the relationship with his side kick makeup artist in the movie they did not even get names and they were only in a 30 second seen. I thought that the movie made Effie trinket a more important than Cinna. I think they could have made these relationships better by more talking on the roof with Peeta and longer makeup time with Cinna. Don’t get me wrong I understand it is a movie and they have time limits and stuff like that I just wish there was more bonding. Another way I thought the movie needed improvement on was with the second meaning the part of how Katness was used, and how she was just a symbol for the new rebels under district thirteen. In the book when Katness went to the dance with the people from the capital when he meets the young man from district thirteen. He sees her pin and shows her his own pin then walks away sort of sleekly and confidently. Another part that was left out in the movie was the part about Cinna choosing to be the dresser for district twelve instead of choosing one of the lower districts. I also I thought that Susan Collins also could have added a few more hints about the rebels in the first book. There was not that much of it until the second book. So I guess there is no real way the movie could have showed this better. Although the movie had a lot of problems with it, it also had a lot of great parts to the movie too. For example the part with the hacker jackers when Katness cuts the nest from the tree and kills Fiona from the bees, I thought this was played out perfectly like I thought it was in my mind when I read the book. Just like the movie Alex rider Strormbreaker when the training house part where, wolf pushes then kicks Alex into the stun grenade. Rarely ever do I watch a movie where it is exactly like what I imagined in my mind. My favorite part of the movie was probably when she shot the apples and blew up the mines. I liked this part because I thought it really played a major part in the games, because it made the main killer group actually hunt for their food. In the book I did not there was a person guarding the food. So the movie added some parts to the book that I thought were needed. Even though this movie had a lot of good parts in it the movie also had it downs. The producers of this movie had high expectations for this movie and I thought that they did pretty good job on it though. But it is nothing compared to the book just because of time wise, already at 2hr and 22 min. I am very excited for the next movie, and I hope they give more character building and show more of the second meaning to the story in the next movie. With time budgets and money cost I thought the movie portrayed the book well.

The Illuminati

The Illuminati, a secret society said to take over the world and reduce the population to 500 million this could include you and your family! Our word population is currently 6,840,507,003 in 2010 now it’s even more! But that is not the illuminate I am talking about I am talking about the book “The Illuminate” written by Larry Burkett. This book has fictional character but takes place in America mostly with the real plot of the illuminati and other things of that nature. So far in this book I have read to page 52 out of 308. Even though I am only on page 52 I can already see a few options that can happen but it all depends what kind of person the author is. Larry is a Christian writer; this is not his normal type of book he writes about financial ways to save money and learn about stocks. He owns his own financial business and likes to play baseball and watch bad ending movies. By this information I think that, the ending will end with the illuminati having the last laugh. I think this because he likes bad ending movies but in that same article it said he also like books with twists. So that could prove me wrong. So far in the book I have no clue who the main character is. Some characters possible are Jeff wells a collage nut that is really smart. Hunt a guy running for president who I think is with the illuminati. Maybe Jeff is with them to, according to my plan he needs to be. So far Hunt is running for president and but there is one man in the way the governor of California jerry crow who is also running. I think this because on page 28 Hunt says that he needs something bad to happen in the west (And the other runners are on the eastern states). Referring to, that somebody out west is his competitor. Then Jeff discovers a earth quake is going to hit Japan and send out a tsunami towards California this is only what happens up to page 52. My prediction is that Mr. Hunt is really working for the illuminati so they can have a firm grip on America, I suppose that they already have people in the senate and congress two so they can get their bills passed. I also think hunt is paying wells to make this earth quake thing up to make the guy from California look bad. Because people want something done about the quake. But you can’t really do anything about an earthquake. After that I suppose that Hunt will get elected to president and he will make laws to help the society. After that I think that the society will kill Jeff but before they do he will tell somebody about them and he or she will try to stop them. In the end of the book I believe that he/she will not prevail and die. I have made this prediction because the author likes bad endings. Also hunt says he needs something bad to happen west and something is probably not going to happen unless you make it happen. Which is exactly what hunt will do because the book makes him out to be a devious and smart person. However if Larry decided that he wanted a happy ending I would have thought there would have been more books. Like the Alex rider series 1-8 books have happy endings but book 9 he dies and there is no book after that. That is not the only book like that the Narnia book series same thing. This book was made in 1998 the year I was born 13 years ago so I don’t think he is still writing. And these are all the reasons why I think this is what will happen in the future of the book written by Larry Burkett.

Big Yellow Taxi.

If you have ever heard the song “Field Below” you will know it sounded kind of sad and a mild because of the solo piano. Unlike however the tone of big “Yellow Taxi” is quite the opposite since this song has multiple meanings it could be played in different ways. For example crowning crows played it much different than the hippies. This is because the hippies were talking about the trees and the crowning crows were just singing the poem but others could have made it about losing something or someone and regretting not having it longer.

Mother to son.

This story portrays the loving but guiding bond between mother and son. It also shows a little bit about the authors own life I think Growing up in Joplin Missouri is not the best place to grow up and is quite hard to land a job so he wrote his life story maybe he wrote it to his sons and his daughters. However maybe it was just wrote as a poem. This also shows how he and his mother had a close bond because of the discipline but the love. The figurative language in this essay takes place on a stair the stair of her life. The reason the figurative language was used for the poems behalf because of this strange way of writing it makes the poem more interesting.

The park.

I strolled calmly across the cross walk to Annihilation park in the city o’ Death weird name for a city, but it is a nice place indeed. This city has hot dog stands and the cheery old ice cream venders that bark prices like dogs. But this park was new e built it with or new city findings it has the usually things a park has like playgrounds and basketball hoops. But no,no I am not a child, but I am not merely a adult I am death a wonderful horrible thing and I have a meeting to attend to.

Compared!

If you have ever read the two books the giver and the journal by Scott Pendleton of the Second World War you will know that they both are very similar and have similar endings. IN these books both characters are torn by a war in Scott’s book it is a physical war in the giver it is a mental war against him and his community. Also these books take place in the future and the past instead of modern day times.

However there are a lot of similarities between the characters in this book like that both characters play a special roll in both of there “WARS”. Jonas could have been a motivational leader for the city but he chickened out unlike Scott Pendleton who manned up to the job and took responsibility and was the leader that he could be. Also both of these characters have a leader to guide them and show them how and what to do. In the book the giver it is the receiver. In the journal it is sergeant. Leroy. Both of these characters watch the two characters developed sort of like Hunter in the Alex rider series.

Therefore they know more about them than most other people maybe more than Jonas and Scott know about themselves. For example when you watch a football game you see what players do wrong and what the for right and sometimes the players don’t even know it. This is like when Scott retreats and leaves a man behind but then goes back for him. That is when he corrects his own mistake unlike when he became lazy in the fields and got ambushed by the Germans. In the book the giver when he leaves late instead of saying goodbye to the giver he leaves early probably leading to his death. But when he starts to take the pills than takes them again that shows a strong sign of corrections and rebellions.

Jonas at heart did not want to become the leader or carry the Burden he was meant to carry. Although, he carried it for a while he gave in at the end and ran. Unlike Jonas, Scott took the time and became the leader and lead the charge and persevering through the pain. Both were very scared you can tell through the authors writing but one made the change and one did not. This just shows the type of writing some authors have.

It can really show something about their life so if I had to describe Louis Lowry I would describe her through Jonas. These pieces portray both authors well and characters as two very different people. But I was surprised by the similarity though between the side characters like the receiver or Fiona. But in Scott Pendleton journal the characters j.j. and Leroy are like Fiona and the Receiver. But the main characters are completely different.

Charecter discription Entering room

Crocket drugged into the room his long legs dangling from his skinny waist like a bees legs hanging in flight. He will stare at you with eyes like jelly and you will look at him but he won’t care he will not mind just go on with his business. Until you will break the gaze then he will not even ask for a chair unless you offer one. He is not found to fiddle unless told to. if you ask him to get you something he will do it for you with great energetic energy like bees working for their king.

He will skip with joy like a bee carrying out orders for the queen bee but. When no one is looking but will walk nervously hurrying to carry out the order if you stare, but no one will dare challenge his long muscular arms into a fist fight no one would be able to hit his head and 6'4. But his eyes look like they have seen too much and the joyful energetic Crockett is fading into nothingness. Crockett was as sweet as a daisy.

Have you ever caught a cold? If you have you probably know that it is a long annoying and gross process. Three to seven days is the average length to have a cold. So most people think that it is caused by bacteria but this is not true, hence the fact why you can’t take any antibiotics to help. Influenza or the cold is caused by the touching of the face or eyes; and these are a few ways to stop it and some basic info about influenza.

Influenza, The common cold is caused by the touching of the mouth or eyes. So the easiest way to prevent the cold is to have good hygiene. Take a shower every day a good shower with soap conditioner and shampoo. Also you should be knowledgeable of what a cold is. A cold is a virus is a tiny organism that needs to live inside a cell but before killing the cell it needs to spread. This type of virus affects the upper respiratory cells unlike other types of cells. Even though it affects millions each year it can very rarely be fatal on its own.

However even though it can be fatal this is rarely the case. So another way to help fight of the cold is, to eat lots of foods with zinc. Zinc is found in foods like beef, oysters and pork witch improve your white blood cells in your stomach. Another good choice is Selenium is, a nutrient which plays an important role in the immune system. Selenium helps white blood cells to make cytokines-proteins which help remove the cold symptoms. Some food with Selenium is eggs, sea food turkey, and mushrooms. And lastly you should eat a lot of garlic. It is said that people who eat garlic daily are 2/3 less likely to get the common cold. Not only doe’s garlic help with colds it is also very good for your body.

As you can see the cold is very head aching but very easy to get rid of or prevent if you follow all of these steps. How?

Have you ever wanted a bill to become a law? First you probably will want to know what a bill is; a bill is a proposed idea that someone wants to become a law. A bill has to go through the senate, Assembly, a public hearing,then the senate again then the house before It becomes a law. Right before the law is signed by the governor, it must wait 6 days and approved by 2/3 of the house.

First to have a bill become a law you need to present it before the assemble then you have to have a public hearing where people from the community tell what they think about the law and if they want it or not. After that the proposers take it to the committee executive session. If it is not passed, the committee offers amendment changes for the bill. If it was passed or not, it goes to the “third reading” where everyone votes on the bill.

If everyone votes on it and it is denied, the bill is sent to the second house action where they make amendments to the law. Then it is sent back to the first six steps. If it does not pass the third reading again, it is sent back to repeat the steps and if not passed third time it cannot try again. That is if the bill was voted out; however, some exceptions can be made.

However if the bill is passed it goes to the committee of conference and they work out a compromise so everyone agrees. After that the bill is sent to the governor and he or she has six days to think about the bill. If the governor does nothing, the bill becomes a law. If the governor does sign the bill, it becomes a law. If the governor disapproves the bill, it is a veto bill and both houses have to override the veto if it is to become a bill.

This is how a bill can become a law. As you can see it is very challenging for a bill to become a law because it has to go through all of these steps. This is a relatively good thing for our state.If a bad bill or unfair bill was to be voted in it would be much much harder for it to make it into a law. In the end this makes our state a better state. Because of this process many Wisconsinites will be much more financially well off.

The giver.

Many people have speculated an ending for the novel The Giver; however Lois Lowry has never written a sequel! She has made two other stories in the time that the giver takes place but not a sequel to the book. I think that eventually Jonas will come back to the community but not how he would have wanted to. I also think that many people will figure out the truth and take a drastic response. I think this because on chapter 10 the giver tells Jonas that “if these people knew the truth they would want it like you do” Although, even though I know there isn’t another book, I think it would go a little something like this.

As Jonas got up he hit his head on a something that he thought to be his bunk bed, because it was still dark outside even though it felt like he had slept for days. He got up and felt around his room but when he got to the wall where the light switch should have been, it was not there. So he went to the door but that was not there either, then he shouted for his mom. After no one came he decided to go back to the bed and sit down when he suddenly remembered that he was not at home but was out on a hill in the snow. With THE BABY! Jonas searched franticly around the room but heard and saw nothing. But then he heard a small noise next to the wall so he crept up to the spot where he thought he heard something and listened. It kept getting louder and louder then it stopped. All of a sudden he was facing a young man but this man did not look like the average boy he had seen.

In fact he did not even look like any person he had ever seen. The boy said get up it is time to eat. Jonas got up and followed the boy to another wall then the boy shouted “open” and the wall slid away in about the middle of the room and the wall he had just come out of opened too. The boy turned around and looked at the wall he had just come out of and yelled close at it. When it closed he kicked it viciously and came back to him. They went out the new room’s door room out into the cold air.
After that they started out into the white abbess. Nearly an hour had gone by while following the boy, then Jonas asked where are we going where is the baby? The boy did not reply. So Jonas repeated himself but again got no answer so he gave up trying and just kept following him. After a hour the boy gave him a small brown colored bar witch he called chocolate. While Jonas was eating the colored bar he wonder why the community did allow these there so good, then boy jumped on him and covered him with snow. At first Jonas started to fight back, but then he heard it the low humming noise of a plane.

This plane sounded different though louder and more mechanical and it was taking forever to pass. As they still lay covered in snow the plane sounding object seemed to near, Jonas felt the vibration of the thing. This told him it must have been on the ground like a truck that his community uses to travel to other communities, but a really big truck. After it had past he got up and went to tell the boy it passed because he most likely can’t hear as well. So he got up and rolled him over but he did not roll he more like flipped over when he saw the boys face Jonas shrieked. All of a sudden the dream came back with the elephant when it was shot that stuff,…. the stuff all over the elephant “Blood”. It was on the boy and the boy was flattened.

Jonas got up and sprinted anywhere, anywhere but by this boy. After a while he grew tired and slowed down. Ahead, he saw another person; he ran to the person but the person seemed never to get closer. After two hours he gave up and fell to the ground. He felt a hand on his back something told him to get up but he was too cold and too tired. And Jonas fell into a deep unconsciousness in the cold, cold snow.

They know nothing!

Authors note: I wrote this piece to give you an idea of what the giver is and what it is about.

“They know nothing”on page 95 This Sentence in the book the giver I think is the most important because it says exactly the truth. That everyone in the community other than the Receivers know nothing about everything. They do not know about color hills or other things in life Over this gives a hint about how everyone is pretty much brained washed.

It is real!

The giver is a mysterious book that takes you through the life of a twelve! Jonas the main character in this story is struggling against the world that is exactly the same, but nobody knows it but him. The main conflict in this story is how Jonas is struggling not to tell anybody about the visions and color that he sees. There are many ways this story could go I think.

One way would be the typically irony. Like the book the titanic both have been following the same trail so far. So I think that he will end up not being able to take it anymore and kill himself or, he will tell too many people and the conical will “release” him. Another way could be that he finds a way to secretly show everybody what life would be like with hills and snow and color. And he forms a rebellion against the government. Another way it could end is that he runs away and finds a new city with people that have color and know what snow is, and gets a new life. These are just a few possible endings but all of them are person vs. self or person vs. society. This is because he is struggling inside himself that he wants to tell people but he can’t. Or society is totally different than him and they want to be different because they don’t know what love or feelings are but he wants to tell them.

Airsoft or Paintball

Authors note: I wrote this piece to improve my score for conclusion Also I like both of these subjects.

Have you ever had to make that choice between two things but you really like both? Airsoft and Paintball are probably two of those things. One way to decided between the two is price. Another way could be the usability, and how much you like it. One of the last things is what is more reliable. In all of these ways to decide I think that Airsoft is the best choice. This is mostly because of the prices, and a lot of people have them. That means you can have more people, and more people is more fun!


A couple of similarities between the two of them are both are mostly an outdoor activity, but they can both be used indoors. Another similarity is that they both are guns and run off the same way to play “if you’re hit you’re out”. One of the main similarities is that that they are both around the same price range for buying $60-$300 but bullets for Airsoft are about 10 dollars cheaper than paint balls and the Airsoft bullets have twice as much bb’s/ container. This is one of the main reasons why I prefer Airsoft over paint ball.


A few differences between the two are that paint ball uses compressed air unlike most electric Airsoft guns. So that is another advantage for Airsoft guns compared to paintball. A giant difference is that Airsoft guns also feel and look like real guns and can be confused. This however is one advantage for paintball. Finally and the biggest one for your choice is witch one you like more because the only reason you get something is because you like it. For me it is Airsoft for you it may be paintball I don’t know but whatever it is for you get it.


Once again it only matters what you like the most so if you ever have to make this choice or another like it just go with what you like best. Or if you like them the same compare versatility, price, and popularity. If you compare both of your subjects with all of these things, listed and explained above I am sure you will find that Airsoft is better than paintball overall. Because of the price and popularity of Airsoft it makes it an excellent expertise choice.

The boy wanted to say something else other that "Thank you, ma’am" to Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones, but he couldn’t do so as he turned at the barren stoop and looked back at the large woman in the door. He barely managed to say "Thank you" before she shut the door. And he never saw her again. Until one day on December 1942 behind a nice church on the corner of Churchill road only a few blocks away from her old house. Witch for some reason was locked up nice and tight with a massive lock. As he strolled through the back lot looking for her because he had heard she was here, and he was here to tell her the good news that he was going off to World War 2 now that he was old enough. After a few hours of looking he found her toward the back of the lot next to bench as he drew closer he sat on the bench. And had conversation with her and told her how he was joining the war. When he left he checked out from the church and the priest asked him what his relationship with her was. Roger paused then thought about and said “She was my mother” The priest replied “sorry, but all good things must end”.

Dave stopped dead then analyzed his pockets. Where was the Test Sample? He briskly turned around and started to prance back to the mansion as he had only just skipped out of seconds ago. Last time the door was locked maybe the owner unlocked it for any other guests to the inquisitive party. As Dave turned the knob it started to turn he filled with joy maybe this was not going to be so hard. He pushed open the door took one step inside and plummeted to the floor in his own pool of blood.
